My mom and I started a painting together awhile back. I had her write the negative things she was feeling on the canvas. Then add colors that represented those feelings.

Then I had her come up with 8 feelings that she desired to feel & write those on the canvas.

Then just make marks and see what comes forward.

The 8 words are something I ask from others when doing a painting for them to activate the canvas with their energy.

The 2nd painting is my Moms.

I love the joy of the woman in her painting.

At this point, my Mom felt complete with her portion, so I took the painting home with me and began making marks.

At one point a cardinal appeared. It kinda freaked me out because it was a time when my boss had passed and I would see a cardinal in my yard all the time. I would tell my Mom about it.

I shared my intuitive paintings with her a lot. We had a lot of conversations about intuition and beliefs and God.

I wanted to ask my Mom before she passed what bird she would be so I would know it was her. I never got the chance.

I decided it would be a blue jay.

After her passing, I decided to play with the canvas again. & guess what appeared?

Yep. A blue jay.

The little orange area among the flowers is from her painting. A little piece of her.

There is still an area that is intriguing me - that pink spot in the sky. Just below it, it looks like a woman with grey hair - the pink her crown.

So, I will continue to feel into if there is more to see.

immerse yourself
in your passions
& allow them to
be your guide.
being who you are &
doing what you love
is magnetic.
it is the presence
that you need
that you desire.
there is no equivalent.

your desires are a nudge from the creative source of the universe 

(god = grand orderly design) 

that it wants to do more for you and thru you.  

it is knocking at your hearts door for your attention.

 open the door and let it in.  

& immerse yourself in what is calling for you.

awen

This painting became “The Three Graces”.

I had came across the word AWEN from a vision page that I had created.

Awen meaning:

flowing spirit ~ flowing inspiration

an opening of one’s self,
of one’s spirit or soul,
in order to truly
and very deeply see.

– an awareness
of the entirety
of existence,
of life itself.

I drew the Awen symbol on this self portrait and these three goddess appeared. The Goddesses of Charm, Beauty & Creativity.

It is still one of my favorites
& hangs in my studio.

when three women were showing up

in my paintings.

in the painting below,

the face in the moon magically appeared

without any effort on my part.

this one felt like a rebirth

with the butterflies and cocoon.

& it always felt like it was a woman

in the shapes underground.

i had the pleasure and honor to be asked

by a friend + breast cancer survivor

to create a piece for her.

as with amy, she has such grace + beauty

as well as a powerful energy.

my tarot cards & soul vision cards.

...it wasn't a specific intention to begin painting a tarot deck or the soul vision cards. i had a black and white tarot deck that i used in my studio. quite often i would get paint on it by accident. then one day i decided to make marks on the back side of the deck to see where it went. well, a whole tarot deck ended up coming out of this experiment.

...after working on my deck for awhile, i was inspired to try the cards for others with the same process that i do for my paintings - beginning with the 8 words, letting the image appear. the addition to the soul vision cards was adding a a scribed symbol on one side which represents the receivers desires (the 8 words) and carries its essence. #magic

...this inspired me to leave the image side of the cards not perfectly clear at first sight. & the image can change depending upon how you view it. i have learned thru this process that some see micro and some macro. #perspective

...with both sides of the card - at first sight - it is not something your mind grasps, so the images take you beyond your rational mind to your unconscious. it is a transmission of change, of action, of transformation to our deeper selves. #plantingseeds #dreamweaving

day 15 | how i name my paintings

naming my paintings is just something I am not very creative at doing.

& the paintings I do for others, I don’t name.

...walk forth - the words I wrote on this canvas. this is the second (of three) paintings I started while reading the gospel of mary magdalene.

...this warrior woman revealed herself with her sword and shield - her breath (spirit) strong - moving confidently beyond what confines her.

day 14 | sold

as of yet, i have not sold a painting, nor have i tried. although i have created several for other people.

...i have sent my intuitive paintings & soul vision cards to several states across the US, to Canada and as far away as the Canary Islands, Spain - & that makes my heart happy!

...in 2013, i took a course from flora bowley called bloom true. it was my first intuitive painting course and changed everything about how i paint. my paintings began to reveal my inner world to me. then i had the idea of adding words and/or symbols to the canvas, which seemed to bring out more magic.

...in 2016, i asked an intuitive + magical friend if i could do a painting for her to see if using words would work for others. i knew she understood this intuition thing, so i was more comfortable trying it with her. she gave me her 8 words and i began. & it worked! so, i kept testing out my process with others.

...so, it has been a couple of years experimenting with the paintings & cards. it feels like time to put myself out there (which is why this challenge is such perfect timing!) and offer them for purchase.

image 2 :: magik + awen to receive a message about nine month program I was about to embark on. both the painting and the program took me on a journey. 

image 3 :: i am free - words from a guided meditation - again was looking for a message about freedom. 

image 4 :: triple hearts - for mary magdalene . I began it on 7/22 not knowing that is her feast day. she did appear holding a skull along with the holy spirit + the risen jesus in the wind. 

day 13 | process insight

...my process begins with eight words. the words are added to the canvas to activate it. to attune it to the message for the client.

...colors are added. marks are made. layers and layers are added.

...images and animals appear within the layers. most times an animal will appear in one layer and then again in another layer.

...this painting had a bear appear twice. in the final image he appeared in her dress. can you see him holding the red bouquet of flowers?

...there is no image in mind when starting the painting. the image is allowed to appear within in the marks and layers.

...when finished, a message is written on the back for the client & sent to its new home.

day 12 | motif

not so much a motif, but something that appears in my paintings often are red roses.

& as I layer the paint animals will often appear as well - usually when I am creating for someone else - so I check out the symbolism for its message to pass on.
