day 20 | favorite technique

day 19 | from the archives

a photograph of a drawing I created when I was 18.

after high school, I attended a fashion merchandising school
to follow a dream of being a fashion designer
& took my first trip to NYC.

...still have a love of fashion & of big cities.

day 16 | smallest painting

my tarot cards & soul vision cards.

...it wasn't a specific intention to begin painting a tarot deck or the soul vision cards. i had a black and white tarot deck that i used in my studio. quite often i would get paint on it by accident. then one day i decided to make marks on the back side of the deck to see where it went. well, a whole tarot deck ended up coming out of this experiment.

...after working on my deck for awhile, i was inspired to try the cards for others with the same process that i do for my paintings - beginning with the 8 words, letting the image appear. the addition to the soul vision cards was adding a a scribed symbol on one side which represents the receivers desires (the 8 words) and carries its essence. #magic

...this inspired me to leave the image side of the cards not perfectly clear at first sight. & the image can change depending upon how you view it. i have learned thru this process that some see micro and some macro. #perspective

...with both sides of the card - at first sight - it is not something your mind grasps, so the images take you beyond your rational mind to your unconscious. it is a transmission of change, of action, of transformation to our deeper selves. #plantingseeds #dreamweaving

day 15 | how i name my paintings

naming my paintings is just something I am not very creative at doing.

& the paintings I do for others, I don’t name.

...walk forth - the words I wrote on this canvas. this is the second (of three) paintings I started while reading the gospel of mary magdalene.

...this warrior woman revealed herself with her sword and shield - her breath (spirit) strong - moving confidently beyond what confines her.

day 14 | sold

as of yet, i have not sold a painting, nor have i tried. although i have created several for other people.

...i have sent my intuitive paintings & soul vision cards to several states across the US, to Canada and as far away as the Canary Islands, Spain - & that makes my heart happy!

...in 2013, i took a course from flora bowley called bloom true. it was my first intuitive painting course and changed everything about how i paint. my paintings began to reveal my inner world to me. then i had the idea of adding words and/or symbols to the canvas, which seemed to bring out more magic.

...in 2016, i asked an intuitive + magical friend if i could do a painting for her to see if using words would work for others. i knew she understood this intuition thing, so i was more comfortable trying it with her. she gave me her 8 words and i began. & it worked! so, i kept testing out my process with others.

...so, it has been a couple of years experimenting with the paintings & cards. it feels like time to put myself out there (which is why this challenge is such perfect timing!) and offer them for purchase.

image 1 :: an old self portrait painting that I added the awen symbol - three muses appeared. 

image 2 :: magik + awen to receive a message about nine month program I was about to embark on. both the painting and the program took me on a journey. 

image 3 :: i am free - words from a guided meditation - again was looking for a message about freedom. 

image 4 :: triple hearts - for mary magdalene . I began it on 7/22 not knowing that is her feast day. she did appear holding a skull along with the holy spirit + the risen jesus in the wind. 

day 13 | process insight

your desired
state of being. ]

...my process begins with eight words. the words are added to the canvas to activate it. to attune it to the message for the client.

...colors are added. marks are made. layers and layers are added.

...images and animals appear within the layers. most times an animal will appear in one layer and then again in another layer.

...this painting had a bear appear twice. in the final image he appeared in her dress. can you see him holding the red bouquet of flowers?

...there is no image in mind when starting the painting. the image is allowed to appear within in the marks and layers.

...when finished, a message is written on the back for the client & sent to its new home.

day 12 | motif

not so much a motif, but something that appears in my paintings often are red roses.

& as I layer the paint animals will often appear as well - usually when I am creating for someone else - so I check out the symbolism for its message to pass on.

day 11 | turning point

when I started creating from feeling.

beginning with no plan.

letting what is meant to be seen come thru.

day 10 | artist hands

my hands continue to remind me more and more of my grandmother, which I love - she could always make you feel better and had the softest skin. & it is one of the last things I remember about her - her hands - holding them in the hospital before she left this earth.

my grandma is also the reason i have a thing for red roses. she loved them. & they always appear in my art.

day 9 | where the art happens

another place in my studio where a lot of art is created - my art table.

the tarot deck I am painting & the individual souls vision cards that I create for others are brought to life here.

day 8 | inspiration

...my inspiration - words.

words are magic.
words are spells.
words create
your reality.

when creating a painting for someone

I ask for 8 words.

words that express the feelings they desire

to bring forth in their life.

the words are painted onto the canvas 

as an activation.

& so it begins.


{ words are, in my not-so-humble opinion,
our most inexhaustible source of magic.

day 7 | color palette

one can speak poetry

putting myself out there, 

which is why I am doing this 21 day challenge - 

to let myself be seen. 

don’t think about making art, 

just get it done. 

let everyone else decide 

if it’s good or bad, 

whether they love it or hate it. 

while they are deciding, 

make even more art.

day 5 | favorite tool

my fingers & a palette knife.

my dad gave me this palette knife 

from his days of bob ross video painting.

it is covered in layers of dried paint now 

but I love it. 

it gives more texture to my paintings, 

which are very tactile.

day 4 | art book

- my visioning books - 

which are another form of my creativity.

 another way I tune in to listen for guidance. 

& send my dreams out to the universe.

day 3 | latest work in progress

this painting is for my mother. 

it started out with her painting on the blank canvas - 

using colors and marks to express her feelings about being not well. 

after that, we added words of the feelings she wanted to feel. 

she kept painting for awhile and made marks. .

then I took it home with me to finish. 

it has had many transformations. 

& has been very slow in revealing itself. 

this is where it is now. .
